Project 365 - October 31

October 31 - Camryn and Caleb always come to our house for Halloween.   This is the best picture I could get this year!

October 30 - After returning from Natchez on Sunday, we went to a Fall Festival at McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl with Chad, Cathy, and the kids.  It was a lot of fun!

Project 365 - October 29

October 29 - We went to Natchez this weekend to visit with Bruce's family.  On Saturday, we went to walk on the Natchez Trails that have recently been opened.  They are so nice!  Above are a few of the pictures that I took while walking.

October 28 - Our October Glory Maple in our backyard is looking spectacular.

October 27 - I don't have a picture for today.  :(

October 26 - When I picked up Camryn from school today, she was SO cute!!  I had to take a picture! :)

October 25 - This is my Tuesday class of fourth graders with their Claes Oldenburg sculptures.

October 24 - This is my Monday class of fourth graders with their Claes Oldenburg sculptures.  I took real pictures, but the crazy ones are better much cuter.

Project 365 - October 23

I was asked by the church to take pictures of Keron Jackson singing at church today.  I agreed but was so nervous.  Bruce and I spent time looking around on the computer trying to learn good settings to use in the church without a flash.  This was my first time (besides fireworks) to shoot something in manual mode.  I am quite pleased with the results.  I think some of my pictures will be used for his promotional items and maybe even a CD cover.  If you have not ever heard Keron Jackson, he is a wondeful evangelist with a powerul testimony and bass voice!!

The choir backed up Keron Jackson in the morning on "He Never Failed Me Yet."  I love that song, and he did a wonderful job!

If you've ever heard Keron, you can only imagine what he had just said before this expression.

I like this shot of the whole stage.  Using Photoshop Elements, I even took out a tall microphone stand that was in the middle of stage.

Project 365 - October 22

October 22 - My 10 year college reunion at MC was today.  Bruce and I went this morning, and it was great to see old friends and catch up on life!

October 21 - Happy Anniversary #5!!  We celebrated tonight at Cerami's, a great Italian restaurant not far from our house.

October 20 - Do you know how many books four paper columns will hold?  Neither did my kids!  That's the beauty of this simple activity which demonstrates how strong columns are and why they are used so much in architecture.   BTW, one group's columns held 20 encyclopedias/books...very impressive!

October 19 - One of my sweet fourth graders is moving, so his mom came and got all of his stuff, including his Claes Oldenburg sculpture of a jump drive.

October 18 - I love to see my kids discussing and thinking!!!

October 17 - Here is one of my cards that is available through Charise Wilson Designs.

October 16 - I think Rook likes that I am starting Charise Wilson Designs, what do you think?  :)   Today, I officially got Charise Wilson Designs on Facebook.   You can search for "Charise Wilson Designs" and Like it!  Also, check out my blog - http://www.charisewilsondesigns.blogspot.com/.

October 15 - This morning, Bruce and I went to Brent's Drugs.   This is some place that we had never been, and I am glad to say that I have now been.  It was a delicious breakfast!

Project 365 - October 14

Today was the big day of our stay-cation.  We both took off of work today and went to Vicksburg.  We ate a wonderful lunch at Main Street Market Cafe, a small local restaurant.  Then, we went to the Vicksburg National Military Park and drove the 16 miles through the park.  I had never been here before, so it was very neat.  I learned a lot of history.  We saw a deer grazing on the side of the road while we were in the park, so we had to stop for some pictures there.  I sure wish I had brought my big camera, but it is nice not to tote it around all the time.  I think we did pretty well with the little one!

Project 365 - October 13

After work today, Bruce and I officially started our stay-cation.  We celebrate our five year anniversary next week.  We normally go on a short vacation for our anniversary, but we are trying to save money this year, so we decided to have a stay-cation this year.  It started tonight with a trip to the MS State Fair.  I had fun taking some pictures and playing with a few of them in Photoshop Elements as well!

One of our favorite parts of the State Fair is the petting zoo.  And, we always pay $2.00 for a small bag of carrots to feed the animals!

Project 365 - October 12

October 12 - I didn't actually take this picture today, but I still think it is cool.  Bruce has used his birthday money to update parts on his bike and is getting back into cycling.

October 11 - Peanut Butter Balls - a favorite snack recipe from my childhood - 1/3 cup honey, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and 1/2 cup nonfat dried milk - mix and refrigerate!

October 10 - My dear friend Cindy and her daughter Alana stayed with us last night.  Today, they visited Milsaps College, where Alana hopes to attend next year.  That would be so much fun.  Plus, I would get to see Cindy a lot more often!  After school, I met them at Gigi's for a cupcake before they headed back to Louisiana.  What a fun visit we had!

October 9 - This is an item from the garage sale that did not sell yet. :(  It has been in my classroom for years, but I recently learned that it is a Danish mid-century modern chair that is actually worth something.

October 8 - Okay, so we actually had another garage sale today with the leftover items from last week. I forgot to take pictures, but this desk from last week finally sold today.  YAY!!!

October 7 - The Ultimate Puzzle - That's was this is called.  The goal is to get all the pieces put together in a 4x4 square, and some of my fifth graders accomplished it today.  So proud of their determination!

October 6 - My fifth graders started took pictures today for their clay animation Aesop's fables.  I know they are going to be great when they are finished.

October 5 - This was actually taken on Monday, but this is one of my fourth graders finishing up her Claes Oldenburg sculptures this week.  I am so proud of their final products.  Hopefully, I can get a picture of them all together soon.

October 4 - This was supposed to be a flower garden made by my students, but they did not have time to finish it.  It kept them busy while others were finishing projects though, so that was good!

October 3 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRUCE!!!!  We celebrated by going out to Ruth's Chris tonight.  There was a set menu choice tonight for Jackson Restaurant Week.  We enjoyed our meal greatly.  I didn't care for this dessert (devil's food cupcake with raspberry icing) but it sure was pretty!

October 2 - We had a Sunday School baby shower today for Mallory and Tyler Rosamond.  Maggie got some time with Bruce!
