Fun at the Zoo

First of all, I got a new lens for my camera!!  I got a 50mm fixed 1.4.  I am so excited. I have actually borrowed one from one of Bruce's friends for a few things, so I was thrilled to get my own.

I took it with me today when we went to the zoo.  Cathy was on call this weekend and Chad was out of town, so mom was here helping out with the kids for a few days.  She and I took them to the zoo this morning.  We had a great time. It was perfect weather, and it let Camryn and Caleb use up some of their energy to take good naps this afternoon!  I took lots of animal and flower pictures while we were at the zoo, but I will have to post those later.  These pics of the kids are much more important!!

Project 52 - Week 13

{Window Light} - I thought that most people would take a picture of something lit by window light for this theme, so I wanted to do something different.  This picture was taken at school.  The light is coming through the blinds and shining on the floor.  The shadow on the right is actually made by the couch that is in my classroom.  I think it's a pretty cool picture!

Charise Wilson Photography - Maggie

Maggie was my second session of the day.  I cannot believe how big she has gotten since our last session when she turned one.  We had a fun time out at the Chapel of the Cross today taking pictures.  At one point, Maggie just wanted to snuggle with me, so of course I had to do that.  Once she got her pacifier, that was the end of the session, but we still got some cute ones.  By the way, I think her outfit is absolutely adorable!!

Charise Wilson Photography - Dimon Girls

I had SO much fun with the Dimon girls this morning.  They smiled the whole time and posed perfectly.  I love how easy going those sweet girls are!

Project 52 - Week 12

{Green} - I actually took this picture while I was at the horse barn last Saturday.  I found the green theme this week sort of hard, but I like the final picture that I edited.

Saturday Afternoon Photo Time

Bruce went with me this afternoon to take some pictures. We just went to a local barn, and I had fun playing with my camera.  I enjoyed spending the afternoon outside in the beautiful weather!  We also did a little geocaching while we were out and about.  We were about three minutes too late at being the "first to find" on a new geocache.   When we got to it, we realized that another car had just gotten there, and they were finding it before us.  We still had fun anyway!

Project 52 - Week 11

{Spring Fever} - For this theme, I borrowed some polish from my sweet neighbor and played a bit.  I am not too much into the nail polish myself, but I thought this was a fun representation of spring here in the South!  The one bottle of OPI polish that I own didn't even make the cut. Oh well. I am also being very intentional in learning to use my camera, so I took a lot of shots of these bottles with different apertures.  I love seeing the different results!

Swimming in March

Chad and Cathy and the kids are staying in a hotel this week while their floors get redone at their house, so we joined them tonight for some swimming fun.  Hopefully it wore Camryn and Caleb out so they will sleep great tonight!

Leaves of Change

This week came with some sad news.  Bruce's grandmother has been diagnosed with dementia.  She has not had a good week, so Bruce and I headed to visit her this weekend.  She had some good moments and some not so good moments while we were there.  I know that this is going to be a long journey for his family, so please pray for their strength and wisdom at this time.

While we were there, his cousin and three kids stopped by to check on Nanny.  I went outside and played with Ava and Maddox for a while.  They wanted to rake all the leaves from the yard into a pile so they could jump into it.  I don't necessarily consider raking leaves a fun thing to do, but they both helped, so it was okay!

Project 52 - Week 10

{10:00 am} - Since I am at school at 10:00 am 5 out of 7 days of the week, I figured that would be the best thing to depict.  It just so happened that my fourth grade students were working on a neat art activity around 10:00 one day this week.  After they learned about the Lines of Nazca, used glue and sand to create one of the designs found in the desert of Peru.

Project 52 - Week 9

{Self-Portrait} - This was a very hard theme this week.  Well, it really would have been hard any week!  I found it very hard to focus the camera on myself while I was not in front of the camera.  I tried a few pictures outside with little success.  Then, I came inside and played with the mirror for a bit.  I took this one when I was very worn out of taking pictures of myself.  Can you tell?  :)
