February Happenings

Last weekend, Camryn and I went to The Mosaic Shop for her to do a project during "quiet time."  She is such an arts and crafts girl, so she LOVED it!  Here are a few pictures from our time there.  By the way, if you have never been to The Mosaic Shop, it is a great place to spend an afternoon doing art!

In case you can't tell from the picture below, she is listening for the ocean in a shell that eventually made its way onto her cross.

I hate that this picture is blurry, but oh well!

Earlier in the month, I got my inspiration for my students' Valentine's from Pinterest!  I think they turned out so cute!

Project 52 - Week 6, 7, and 8

Week 8 {JUST FOR FUN} - It took a while for my creative juices to get flowing this week!  The night before the pictures were due, I finally took out our bucket of games at the house and got to snapping pictures.  This one that I submitted is of a game called Rush Hour.  Although real rush hour is no fun, the game sure is!  It is a game that my kids at school LOVE to play, and I have one at home also.

Week 7 {BLACK AND WHITE} - I didn't get a picture submitted to Photography Bootcamp in time to be on their blog this week, but I did still posted a picture later.  I took this of Rook.  He looked so cute!  One of my goals this year is to really learn how to use my camera, and I took this using lots of things I have learned lately!

Week 6 {SWEET/HEART} - I thought this would have been a great theme for the week of Valentine's, but it was the week before.  Oh well!  The night that I had to submit my photo to Photography Bootcamp, I ran out to Wal-Mart to get some Valentine candy to photograph.  By the way, Bruce and I love the large candy hearts that I bought.  Yum!  This first picture is the one I submitted this week.

This was my runner-up for this week.  I finally decided on the one above, but I still like this one also.

Project 52 - Week 5

{WHAT INSPIRES YOU} - With photography, flowers were definitely the first thing that really inspired me to want to do more photography.  While I enjoy doing lots of different types of photography now, flower are still my favorite, I think!  I took this week's picture of a paperwhite narcissus that is in our front yard.  Bruce planted these a few years ago, and I love how they come back at the end of each winter.  We got the bulbs from my Papa and Granny, and they came from my Papa's childhood home.   The bulbs for these plants have traveled each time that my grandparents have moved, so they are really special to me.   I have taken pictures of the paperwhites each year when they come out, and this is definitely my favorite picture of one!
