June 29 - Bruce changed out our flag the other day!!  I love showing our patriotism!!

June 28 - Tonight was a softball tournament.  Bruce's team only made it one game in the tournament, but it was close.  They really are a fun group of guys and are out there to have fun and fellowship!  I am glad Bruce joined the team this year!

New Web Address

Our blog has a new web address....check it out!  If you have the blog saved in your favorites, make sure you change the address!!!

Project 365 - June 27

June 27 - This is our very confused star magnolia tree.  We were worried about it all winter and then it did bloom out in late February/early March.  When we got back from England, it had about five leaves on it like it was October.  Then, it started blooming a couple of days ago with flowers and is now full of new leaves.  I guess it is fine....just very confused about what time of year it is!!!

June 26 - This is a makeshift studio in my living room for a few days!

June 25 - I got Photoshop Elements 9 this week.  I am very excited although I have no idea what to do with it!   I used the Guided Edit section to play with this picture of Big Ben's Clock Tower.  The first one is the original picture, and the second is the edited version with a lomo effect.  I have a lot to learn, but it has been fun playing with it so far!

June 24 - We went to a Mississippi Braves game tonight.  Bruce got tickets from work, so that was nice.  It was also fireworks night since it was Friday.  Unfortunately, the Braves lost, but the fireworks were wonderful!  Fireworks will forever remind me of my first date with Bruce!

Project 365 - June 23

June 23 - While I was out running a few errands today, this was outside one of the stores.  I really liked it!

June 22 - We have gotten a few strawberries, but they are very small.  Maybe the plant will make some bigger ones next year!

June 21 - This is another frog in our collection.  It is very tiny and sits on the ledge of a clock in our office.

June 22 - This is such a beautiful site!!!  We stayed with Chad and Cathy this weekend because our air went out.  We got it fixed this morning.  YAY!!

June 21 - While we were at Chad and Cathy's tonight, Camryn made a worksheet for me to complete.  Then she taped it into a packet with a progress report and a note to give to my mother.  I had to leave it in my "cubby" until I was ready to go home.  Do you think she might be a teacher one day?  :)

Project 365 - June 18

June 18 - This is Camryn's birthday cake.  I think it turned out well.  I think this is the first cake that I have done will an all smooth coat.  It has its challenges, but it was fun to do!  The picture above is Camryn at her party.  Can you guess what her favorite color might be?

June 17 - Let the cake decorating begin!!  My niece Camryn's birthday party is tomorrow, and I am making the cake.  Thankfully, Cathy and I were able to convince her that I needed to do something a bit more simple than her original plan! :)

Project 365 - June 16

June 16 - Maybe one day soon we can have strawberry shortcake with our very own strawberries!!

June 15 - Our cookie jar is now filled with wonderful Cadbury candy from England!  YUM!!!

June 14 - Only a couple of softball games left for the season.  It has been fun.  Tonight's game was very good!  I must say, though, that I enjoyed the games in the first half of the season a bit more when the heat index was not 98 at 8:00 at night as it was tonight!  :)

Project 365 - June 13

Bruce and I arrived back from a mission trip to Flitwick, England Monday evening.  What a wonderful trip it was!  It is always encouraging to see God working around the world!  I will post more pictures from the trip (more on the mission trip part of it) later on, but for now just the one-a-day.

June 13 - Although this picture was taken on the 12th, today was the day we had to say good-bye to this sweet family.  They graciously opened their home to us last year, and we quickly became friends.  So, of course, we stayed with them again this year.  It's amazing how much Andrew and Amanda are like Bruce and I, and the kids are great!!!!  We very much enjoy the time that we get to spend with them.  Too bad they live thousands of miles away.  This quote from the movie Annie is quite fitting: "How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

June 12 - This was our team for the mission trip.

June 11 - The guys went on a Men's Retreat to the Forest of Dean, near the Wales border, so the girls found a little time to go shopping!  We could have attended the Royal Wedding in these, don't you think?

June 10 - Today, we did a lesson on Thanksgiving and the early American settlers with a second grade class. We taught them how to make a tukey out of their hand.  They thought it was great!  They then had to write things they were thankful for inside of their hand.  This is one of the pictures in progress!

June 9 - Hello from London!

June 8 - We worked in two schools today, and I saw these roses on the way home....how beautiful!

June 7 - There was a Ladies Day at the church today, so most of the men had some free time.  Bruce headed off to Birmingham to visit the stadium of his favorite football (soccer) team, Aston Villa!

June 6 - Of course, I always love to take pictures of the flowers while I am on vacation, and England offers such a great variety!

June 5 - One of the boys in the family we are staying with had a homework assignment to make a 3-D model of a cell.   This is the cake that he made!

June 4 - The church planned a picnic for us on the Saturday that we arrived in an attempt to help us stay awake and adjust to our new time zone.  It was in Ampthill park, and as we were leaving, there was a cricket match going on.  It is very interesting to watch, but I certainly don't understand it.

June 3 - Off we go on a Boeing 747 to London, England on our mission trip.  I am so excited!

Project 365 - June 2

I am not really sure where pictures from June 1st and 2nd might be, so I won't post any for now.  Maybe I will find some later!
